One of the reasons why I don’t do photography for free (for anyone but the family) these days is because most people don’t appreciate good work or good art.
Out of goodwill, I just did an alternative kind of photo for someone as her stock photos looked kinda blah. I showed it to her and she doesn’t say anything. Then when I asked for feedback, she says it looks “quite flat”.
Ahh, some people don’t understand how much effort it takes to use high ISOs, use a remote-controlled flash, do slow-sync lighting and find just the right angle to do something nice and different. And it took half an hour too.
Too bad if people don’t realise they’re plebs. Another person off my artistic goodwill list.
