233A Balestier Road, a pictorial archive of the Wee family

Outside the house, possibly during CNY period My mum on extreme left, with her parents and 2nd bro. Picture from 1947. My mum and my daughter Isabel both share the same look when they're not too happy! My uncles and unknown friend, standing near Tua Pek Kong temple (which still survives today)
233A Balestier Road. Who's birthday is this? 233 Balestier Road from the rear. As you can see, this was a really long house.
The messy central area of the house, where I did most of my homework in Pri school. My mum, uncles and my grandparents. Probably taken in the late 1950s or early 1960s. CNY period during the 1980s.
My mangy mongrel, one of several we owned in the 1980s. One of us had a birthday, and this is one of the rare photos of us with our grandfather, who passed away in 1985. In the background is the family altar. My grandmother always kept a multitude of cats and dogs in the house. Back then, there was always space for more pets, given that the shophouse and its residential extension were so spacious.

(No jokes about my hair ok?)
Posing in the main washing area, between the kitchen and the living room. Old school kitchen. More authentic than the ones you see in Mediacorp period dramas! My granduncle used to eke out a living in a small shed right next to our house, doing metalworks for contractors.

Description: The building is long gone, but this shophouse sheltered several generations of my mum's side of the Wee family. Some ancient and not-so-ancient snapshots which I scanned for the archive. These are also the few photographs I had of myself when I was a kid.
