Before he died, no one really cared about him, save for the few tens of thousands who bought out his London shows. That said, he died exactly the way every superstar should. Suddenly, tragically, and under a shroud. Cue James Dean (can anyone name me one movie he's starred in?), Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain etc. If MJ had lived in obscurity until he passed on in his sleep just before his 83rd birthday, there wouldn't be so much media hype.
