For the past few weeks, my friend and I have been working on this radical idea and doing every possible thing to make it a “wow” thingy. All parties involved scrutinised the work over and over again, combing for every little detail – and you won’t believe how much detail we were packing into this. I was sure it would work and fulfill our objectives fully.
But you know, like the Good Book says in Proverbs 16: “To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue. All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD. Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
Without going into detail, we did succeed but the entire project was dashed against the rocks by one incredibly tiny detail and it was a mistake that became visible on a large scale. I haven’t felt my heart break in the same way for a very long time. Edwin always reminds me pride comes before a fall (PCBAF, or “perkabarf” as we would say) and boy, did I fall hard.
It’ll take a few days for the hurt to go away but it’s a good reminder that I’ve gone too far on my own legs for too long. This is the problem when God gives you many blessings – you start to believe you earned them on your own, when it was really the Man who showed you mercy unconditionally.
In any case, I’ve put up a Bible Verse of the Day on the right sidebar, thanks to Bible Gateway. Do try to read it. I know I do!
